The season kicks off with the Luhrs Port Stephens Game Fish Shootout on the 20-21st February followed by the Nautilus Boat Insurance Interclub Game Fishing Tournament on the 27-28th February and the 6-7th March.
Now in its 46th year the Interclub draws over 200 boats and 1000 competitors and is the largest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Click here for more information.
On the 13th March the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race series will come to Port Stephens for the first time. This event includes up to 4km of kayaking, 15-20kms of cycling and 7-10km on foot on a course kept underwraps until registration! No doubt there will be a few people needing a day or two of R&R after this takes place!
Held each year the weekend prior to Easter, the Club MarineTrailer Boat Fishing Tournament has grown to be amongst the most popular family fishing tournaments in Australia while staying true to its original ideal of making anglers of all ages and skill levels welcome. These days, you can expect to join around 1300 competitors and 500 boats to compete for over $100,000 in species and lucky draw prizes. It is the first ever fishing tournament for around 50% of competitors each year, and people travel from all over Australia for the weekend. A relatively new event to the Port Stephens Calendar, Sail Port Stephens is now the fastest growing yachting regatta on the East Coast. The event was designed to welcome yachties of all skill levels. Its a fun, family orientated event where competitors can choose to enter the event for a few days or the whole week. There are heaps of social activities on offer and a Yachties Bus which gets you around the town for all the fun.
